In a recent interviews, Sinclair discussed the mechanisms behind aging, how his lab has successfully reversed it in mice, and what practical steps we can take today to preserve our DNA and health while awaiting the next wave of anti-aging breakthroughs.


The Science of Aging: Cracks in the Code

Sinclair explains that one of the primary drivers of aging is DNA damage, specifically broken chromosomes. Every cell in our body experiences DNA breaks daily—trillions of times across our body—and while most are repaired, the process disrupts how our DNA is folded and organized. Over time, this causes cells to activate the wrong genes and lose their original function, essentially "breaking the clock" of cellular health.


The revolutionary discovery in Sinclair’s lab is that our bodies have a backup copy of the genetic information that can be accessed and restored using embryonic genes. By activating these genes with a technique known as cellular reprogramming, researchers can reset the biological age of tissues.


For instance, in Sinclair’s lab, it currently takes 4-8 weeks to reset the age of a mouse. Sinclair believes the same process could eventually be applied to humans, potentially via something as simple as a pill.

While we wait for this transformative technology to become widely available, there are actionable steps you can take now to preserve your DNA and slow aging:


1 Optimize Your Lifestyle The basics of healthy living still matter:


  • Exercise regularly (aerobic and weightlifting).

  • Get adequate sleep.

  • Follow a plant-based diet with minimal red meat.


Vegetarian diets are rich in nutrients essential for maintaining and repairing DNA while Animal-based diets, particularly those high in processed meats or cooked at high temperatures, can expose the body to carcinogenic compounds like polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), heterocyclic amines (HCAs), and nitrosamines.


How it helps DNA: These compounds can directly bind to DNA, causing mutations or breaks in the genetic code. Avoiding or minimizing such exposures supports DNA stability and reduces the risk of DNA-related diseases, including cancer.


Vegan or vegetarian diets do not inherently promote age reversal and longevity. Many foods, which accelerate aging, are vegan or vegetarian-friendly. The key lies in strategic nutrition, a method of tailoring nutrient intake to achieve specific health outcomes while ensuring proper absorption by the body. 2 Avoid Environmental Toxins Reducing everyday exposure to environmental toxins is essential for maintaining DNA integrity and slowing the aging process. Many common substances can accelerate cellular damage and harm your DNA. Here are some of the most concerning culprits:


  • Radiation


Frequent exposure to ionizing radiation, such as X-rays or gamma rays, can cause DNA strand breaks and chromosomal instability. Accumulated exposure over time has been linked to cancer and other age-related diseases.

Actionable Advice: Minimize unnecessary medical imaging and always use protective shielding during procedures.


  • Chemicals in Plastics


Compounds like Bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates, found in many plastics, are endocrine disruptors that can interfere with DNA repair processes and contribute to oxidative stress.

Actionable Advice: Choose BPA-free containers, avoid heating food in plastic, and reduce the use of single-use plastics and use bioresonance devices like Spooky2 to detox plastic, metals, and even parasites. In my coaching, I include remote detox using an X generator.


  • Heavy Metals


Metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium, and arsenic have been shown in numerous studies to induce oxidative stress, damage DNA, and disrupt cellular processes.


Actionable Advice: Use water filtration systems to reduce exposure to heavy metals, avoid fish with high mercury levels (e.g., swordfish, king mackerel), and ensure safe workplace practices if working with industrial metals.


  • Air Pollution


Particulate matter (PM), including substances like polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heavy metals in polluted air, has been shown to cause DNA damage and mitochondrial dysfunction. Long-term exposure is linked to increased risks of cancer and cardiovascular diseases. So having a Medical grade air purifier at home is important.


Actionable Advice: Use air purifiers indoors, introduce these plants at home or office, avoid exercising near heavy traffic areas, and choose cleaner air environments for your activities.


  • Pesticides and Herbicides


Certain agricultural chemicals, such as glyphosate and organophosphates, are associated with DNA damage and disruption of cellular functions. Chronic exposure has been linked to an increased risk of cancer and neurological conditions. One of the most important actions for age reversal is eating only organic foods and detox the body regularly.


Actionable Advice: Choose organic produce when possible and wash all fruits, vegetables thoroughly to reduce pesticide residue and use sauna or bioresonance for detox often.


  • Household Chemicals


Cleaning agents and personal care products with toxic substances like formaldehyde, ammonia, or benzene can contribute to oxidative stress and disrupt cellular health.

3 The Use of Biohacking Tools that Sinclair himself uses:


The third practical step to protect your DNA today is consuming specific compounds that support DNA repair properly and proper cell division. Resveratrol

Found in red wine, this compound activates cellular defenses and supports healthy aging.


Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN)

A precursor to NAD+, which is essential for DNA repair and cellular energy production.


Coenzyme Q10

Supports mitochondrial function, energy production, and overall cellular health.


Berberine

A natural plant compound that mimics the effects of metformin, a medication he consumes but that I do not recommend due to its potential side effects. Berberine provides similar benefits, regulating blood sugar levels and supporting metabolic health, without drawbacks.


Curcumin

In my opinion, one of the most beneficial compounds for age reversal. It is beneficial for key longevity pathways due to its anti-inflammatory and DNA-protective properties.


Quercetin

A powerful antioxidant that reduces inflammation, supports cellular repair, and works synergistically with resveratrol.


Fisetin

A flavonoid that helps clear senescent cells and promotes cellular rejuvenation.


Astaxanthin

A potent antioxidant derived from algae that protects against oxidative stress and supports skin and mitochondrial health. This compound is included in my formula in very low dosage because some antioxidants when are consumed in high quantities could promote oxidation.


Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA)

A potent antioxidant that regenerates other antioxidants and supports metabolic and mitochondrial health.


EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate)

A green tea extract with powerful anti-inflammatory and DNA-protective effects.


Vitamin D3 with K2

Vitamin D3 is one of the most essential nutrients for longevity. Vitamin D3 helps regulate genes responsible for cellular repair and reduces oxidative stress, making it a cornerstone for slowing down the aging process and supporting overall vitality.


Pairing it with vitamin K2 enhances its effectiveness by directing calcium to the bones and away from arteries, further promoting longevity.


When consuming supplements, it is crucial to know the best dosage and the correct way to consume them for optimal absorption. For example, taking the recommended dose of 800 I.U. of vitamin D has no significant benefit. The dose for age reversal and healing is more than 5,000 I.U. and should be consumed with fats; otherwise, there will be no absorption.


Magnesium

Crucial for over 300 enzymatic reactions, including DNA repair and mitochondrial function.


Spermidine

Found in wheat germ and certain fermented foods promotes autophagy and cellular renewal.


Glycine and NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine)

Precursors to glutathione, a master antioxidant that defends against oxidative damage.


Rhodiola Rosea

Another adaptogen known for enhancing mitochondrial function and reducing fatigue.


Omega-3 Fatty Acids (EPA/DHA)

Found in fish oil or algae oil, these support anti-inflammatory pathways and brain health.
